I do agree, man I wish I have your talent of tweeking knobs, what recording equipments are you using? You are awesome just about everything!!!
-
i have the 60 version and sounds kick ass! thank you for doing this awesome peavey amp test!
-
OMG YES YOU MADE MY WISH COME TRUE XD!

Dude look at where his pre gain is at! Its not even half and his distortion is perfect!

@FungusLabel McDicks was a low blow... I had a recto, I want that part of my life back.
-
@MrRmjjmr Then do not buy a recto because without a boost or mod it wont be tight! Yea sorry but it's actually a very loose type of distortion! Comparing vypyr to McDonalds is just lame... Uhm and did I say that it is tightER? I said if I would make a record with vypyr and called it a mesa record no one would think it was actually recorded by vypyr!

Fungus..... assuming ive never played one is like assuming ive never ate at mcdonalds... its not exactly a rare and sought after amp... ... funny tho it sounded tighter than a mesa.... wish i never bought that recto......

Check out a TS808 along side it if you can, some people prefer one over the other. I'm pretty happy with my TS9DX but you might like the 808 better.

You could get a Peavey Vypyr tube 60 for around that much. A Bugera 6260 is basically like a 6505 copy and it goes for around $300 used. I've heard they have reliability issues but I haven't used one so I can't say for sure.
I think you need to be recognized for your ability to take just about any amp and make it sound just like the one you used before. Clearly you've mastered the art of knob turning and tweaking.
We must therefore give you a new nickname.. Perhaps: Knob Destroyer... Tone Generator X... Tweak-Tone Johnson...
Something...
