It was officially "Len Lunney Day" in the City of Ottawa Thursday as the St. Pius X 50th Anniversary kicked-off with special presentations to the Pius icon and former Principal who guided the school through some of its toughest years. Many friends, colleagues, media and well-wishers crowded the St. Pius Library as Acting Ottawa Mayor, Rick Chiarelli presented Fr. Lunney a street sign that is an exact replica of the one located at the street that the City has named after him recently. CFRA radio celebrity Mark Sutcliffe praised Lunney and a Mayoral Proclamation was read declaring May 22nd "Len Lunney Day" in the Capital.
