"And if your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life crippled than with two hands to go to hell, to the unquenchable fire."
So, let me get this straight, if the a Jew would have turned from his sin then the Romans would have allowed them to "enter life" and been merciful to them.
"And if your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life crippled than with two hands to go to hell, to the unquenchable fire. And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life lame than with two feet to be thrown into hell. And if your eye causes you to sin, tear it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into hell, "
I think I've figured it out. When I'm reading the bible anytime I come across anything concerning God's wrath or judgment against sin it's figurative. Then when I read about His love and mercy it's literal. Did I get that about right?

"Jesus called HELL Gehenna..a thrash dump in 1st century Jerusalem..."
So, Jesus was warning them that they would be cast into a trash dump? If so, then it must still be there today, right?
