Natural forks have their own appeal. You never know what is underneath the bark, and the strength of the wood is amazing.

This video shows how Jörg Sprave turns a Blackthorn fork into a nice slingshot, just with knife, rasp and file.

In order to make it less boring, the time intensive parts of the video are massively accelerated, so even though no part has been left out, the entire procedure takes abozut 9 minutes from raw fork to the well finished glossy slingshot, ready with home made bands.

A "The Slingshot Channel" production!

  • hi Joerg,

does it matter how wide apart the forks are?

    thanks

    Archie

  • @SuperGPAG For beginners, yes. The fork should be wide and a bit higher. Advanced shooters don't need any fork width, as the flip down method takes care of that.

  • With which paint you painted it.I love this slingshot soo badly :)

  • @BorisStokicCobb No paint, black ink.

  • I enjoyed watching this and I actually prefer this basic type of catapult to some of your more high-tech versions.

Wood has a nice feel and I like the simplicity.

    Great.

  • witch wood you used in this video.thanks

  • @SuperGPAG This one has been stained with black ink for pens, then coated (4 layers) using polyurethane for boats.
