  • Since the R-10s were already retired during that point in time because by the looks of things, these were probably shot during October - November, 1989 as evident passengers were already wearing all weather jackets, the R-27/30 units upon the R-10s retirement were already operating on the C Line during that time and these were given the Redbird paint treatment. However it was a little disappointing that those R-27/30 units were not featured on this video.

  • @mightyflux You're right: I took the No.1,2 &3 to my vocational school back in late 1983-84 and this line already had the silver cars running on the tracks. I forget the "R" series designation.

  • @dandd239 I checked out the cops' uniforms: they still appear to be wearing the light blue shirts underneath their jackets; the new dark uniforms of today did not materialize until somewhere in 1994-5. So it's possible this could have been 1989 or 1990.

  • Nice ! Thanks!!

  • 3:20 Kidnap complete! 200pts

  • @dandd239 Most likely this was shot in '89.

As a 19 year-old in 1989, I remember very vividly thinking to myself that times were changing. I felt that things were getting bland, and that it wasn't like the mid-eighties anymore. A new era was dawning.

  • @dandd239 If this shot is from the 80s, then its defitnitely from 1989. The graffiti phase died out in the summer of that year. You do have a point though, it doesnt necessarily look like this was taken from the 80s but in a way i think it is. If you pause at 0:33, you'l see how the train car looks. (i think its an R44 or R46) You'l notice it doesnt have that yellow sign on the window telling u the last stop of the train. I believe those signs came in the picture in the mid 90s.

  • Does not look like the eighties to me. Not the clothes or the hairstyles or the cleanliness of the train & the stations. Wonder if the number in the corner of the screen is actually the date filmed April 20, 2002??

  • :DD Good
