Why does the eminent, knowledgable Captain Karl [radiating authority, with quite an endearing smile] not have an official FanClub? Less importantly, do the coconuts and bowling balls get placed in happy homes? I hope so. I believe this video of the MacFarland (and terse explanation of some of it's primary projects) should include the tag 'Army Corps of Engineer's unsung dredgers'. Who is gathering Capt. Karl's words of wisdom for a book collection?
I've decked on towboats, run towboats on a Master-100 Tons-Western Rivers license, refueled them from fuel flats,& most anything else you can do on the Western Rivers but I've never worked one day on a dredge.Sitting in one spot just doesn't suit me. Glad they're out keeping the channels clear, though.
That's a one hell of a ship. Being on the ship and seeing some of the stuff it sucks must be pretty exciting. It's akin to treasure hunting. Except the scary things that blow up.
Oh Mac the Cook yerah hes on the other tour or i would have stuck my face in there that Capt must have vstayed over on the other tour. Yeah I heard about this and watched it on local TV when it ran I think we were in Norfolk .
