For our giant zips at = http://www.orgxiii.org/shop/zipper-shop/
This is actually really fast to do. If you are working with one of the normal zips that have been spliced/hacked up/etc. so it no longer has an end-stop or separating feed bottom...and then you accidentally pull the slider pull off...it can be reattached like this:
Just set the slider pull on the top of the connected teeth track, then twist each side in opposite directions which will cause the slider to be pulled down.

Please keep in mind that if you have cut the zipper down yourself at all, you'll need to apply plenty of Fray-Block or Fray-Check (and let dry for about 5 minutes) to the cut edge of the zipper tape to prevent any unraveling. Otherwise, you can reattach the slider pull at any time - whether the zipper has been attached to fabric yet or not.

Jewelry crimps (or metal zipper stops usually used for #10 zippers) my be applied in between teeth near the edges to prevent the slider from coming off in the future.

  • Do you also have the bottom pin box and top end-stops for sale for any of the just zipper chains?

  • @NotYourPaddle

The zipper chains are just that...you can add a slider on to them as shown above, but the box+pin or end stops have to actually be molded directly into the nylon tape along with the teeth at the time of production. So...there would be no way to attached them later. ^_^; The zippers that are "complete" (and not just chain) are fully-separating since they include both of those already.

  • OH really? I actually live in Bolingbrook, IL. Just outside of Chicago. Do you have a store that i can come pick them up?

  • Besides the occasional convention show, we are just a mail-order company right now. (Our zippers are a bit too specific of a specialty use to have a whole retail location. ^_^; I just happen to be operating out of Geneva right now.)

  • I wanna order some for my kids costume. hes gonna be 9 from the movie and i was just wondering how long shipping would be? i couldnt find it on your website. I live in Chicago

  • I ship orders by by first class / priority mail, and I stop by the post office just about every day. (And I'm 45 minutes west of Chicago, so...pretty fast! Within a day for delivery, most likely.)

  • Thanks for this!

I have a loose small zipper for a craft project i'm doing for fun (Making the Peas in a Pod character from Toy Story 3!) and I accidentally seperated the zipper when I was fiddling with it. I used this method and it worked! Popped a couple of temporary staples either side of the zipper so this doesnt happen again :P

  • took me a while to figure it out, but thanks so much for making this video! Love the giant zipper! Just got it today

  • They are the zippers we have on our website. (Check our profile page or the caption to the right since hotlinks aren't allowed in replies on yt.)

  • where did u get the zipper! o.o
