it can be found at ebay for 400 bucks i think, but nowadays some general midi soundfont is pretty like the sound of this units and them is often for free.

If you want my opigion, the Roland SC8850 is still used by VG Musicians, like zun and others, but because you can found so similare sound in soudfont i wonder if it's worth it anyway, i think you know what is soundfont ?

it's a roland SC sound Module, a sc-88 module or higher, it's like the originale because Uematsu use the SC-88 Module, the Best Roland SC model and the last one is the Roland SC-8850,

check also the Yamaha MU2000EX, the Roland SC and Yamaha MU sound modules is the two most used technology in japan to produce video game music^^
