Goldilocks anesthesia is not too much or too little but always just the right amount.

Directly measuring patient brain response dictates the sleep dose of propofol.

Measuring is safer than guessing.

50 micrograms propofol per kilogram body weight is given sequentially while observing BIS/EMG brain monitor response in addition to vital signs.

Typically 1,000 micrograms propofol per kilogram body weight is given as a single dose producing stoppage of breathing and decrease in pulse oximeter tone with requirement for artificial respiration and supplemental oxygen.

No stoppage of breathing (shown by lack of change in pulse oximeter tone) or need for artificial breathing is required with Goldilocks anesthesia.

  • Blame this 60+ year old, Macintosh user for not realizing the pin hole on his 35 mm still camera was, in reality, a microphone input. Innocent, inadvertent oversight, maybe. Rights violation? Please get a life.

  • You told the patient that this was video only and no audio. This is a violation of her rights!
