Woohoo! I went a couple years ago with my kids and even though there were no "events" in my area, the free comics were cool and we had a blast visiting the stores. (visit all of them and get more comics!)

anyone know if there is a limit to hoe many books u can get ?
forsakensamael 4 years ago
Each participating retailer sets his or her own methods of fulfilling the giveaway of FREE comic books.
Because many retailers expect good-sized crowds for FCBD---and because retailers still do have to pay for the comic(s) you'll receive for FREE, both supplies and the number of comics you can get will be limited.
But, hey, FREE is FREE--- and this year's selection of Special Edition FCBD comics is staggering in its diversity.
Have fun!

Come on guys. I'm not a huge comic fan but I wander in every once and a while. Comics are cool they have gorgeous art and unlimited effects budgets and story potential. But your advertisement to rope in new readers is 30 seconds of watching people search for comics in dusty long boxes.
How is that more exciting than the hulk and superman beating each other up?

Not a dusty box in that 30 seconds---simply lots of people discovering just how cool comics really are. Free Comic Book Day isn't about the Hulk beating up Superman (or vice versa), it's a showcase for the amazing diversity found in the ultra-creative art-form of comics.
If you love comics or want to discover just how great the entertainment is in today's comics, invite your friends to go with you to a local independent comic book store for Free Comic Book Day on May 5th!
