Here are some pictures and video from a nice Sunday cruise along the Youghiogheny River on a rails to trails bike path. We started in from Boston Pa. and rode through to West Newton (about 14 miles). This is part of The Cumberland and Pittsburgh Trail, Great Allegheny Passage. I'd like to thank the guy working the water pump by Dravo Methodist Church. It added a nice touch to the video.
Soundtrack by NiteBox with an edit from Monster Mush.

  • I bought old abandoned bar in Smithdale, next to trail mile 116.5. I may need some help repairing or demolishing it. Not sure it is habitable but I may let it stand and use it for storage. It was the Shamrock bar. Next step getting deed in my name and paying back taxes. Having trouble loading my photos on to YouTube. There are no valuables in building, no trespassing. That music is great . Want to hang out sometime and drink or fish or cycle? My name is Edward.

  • @bluemountaindrivepae YouTube doesn't do photos except for the little thumbnail for your channel. If you're running Windows, it has a program called Windows Movie Maker. Open that program and import the pictures to it. Drag and drop them to the Time Line/Story Line (I think it defaults to the Story Line View), and add a sound file to the audio track underneath. If you have a microphone you can click the Narrate Time Line button and add a voice over or music through your sound card.

  • @bluemountaindrivepae Hang out? Hmmm I'm usually busy with other projects, but on the weekends I often ride from Boston to The Trailside for a late (2 or 3PM) brunch with a friend. PM a phone number and I'll ring it when I head out.

  • The Trailside nice place for lunch. There is a convenience store with breakfast items next door. There are 2 shady benches on other side of trail than the Trailside. Is the videocam on your head? I took some 12.2 megapixel pictures of the trail and will post them soon.

  • @bluemountaindrivepae I was holding the camera in my hand. I'll sub and check for your post. :D

  • EXCELLENT JAM!!!! 10 stars for the tune alone!!

Cool video, you have a lot of nice shots here. I was just wondering...is this the same trail that runs through Greensburg, along RT 119?

  • Thank you! I don't think this is the same trail. This one starts in Boston Pa. just south of McKeesport along the Youghiogheny River and goes through to Connellsville (about the closest it gets to Greensburg).

  • It runs from Pittsburgh to Wash DC..Its about 317 miles one way. Hey Ed I remember when Charley Carlock owned the Shamrock. That was ages ago. I ride the trail a lot myself.

  • Cool! Thanks.

  • Nice video, I love the bike cam! That's a freaking sweet bike trail.
