Album : But What Ends When The Symbols Shatter? (1992)

Lyrics :

And I shall turn your eyes
Into tears
When all that's left
Are the hollows of devotion
And, out of vision
We shall bring
The void
Crowned with hoods
And crying with hope
Eagle on arm
And terror in eye
Resist and struggle
Your faith is a lie
And, the death of dreams
Shall be a beautiful end
With flowers of filth
And wine and fine men
Certain slips of the tongue
Are laced with disappointment
With disappointment
From start to end
Confront me with your dream
Confront me with your dream
Confront me with your dream
And lives so cruel, I curse
And, I shall turn your eyes
Into tears
When all that's left
Is the hollow of devotion
And, out of vision
We shall bring
The void
Crowned with hoods
And crying with hope
And, the death of dreams
Shall be a beautiful end
With flowers of filth
And wine and fine men

Cheers.

  • The point is that not being an anti-Nazi band doesn't make them a Nazi band, Socrates. I know this is subtle stuff.

  • This song is about a Roman Catholic priest Pearce fucked in Heathrowe.

He is crying because the Germans have won war with France (as far as I remember that photo it was about german troops marching on victory parade). Sorry for my bad english.

  • What beautiful lyrics!

  • Golliwogg APPROVES of this song.

  • Why was that guy crying at 0:22?

  • @dinglegonzo

As is typical of Di6, it is about many things, and I have to say, some of the lyrics of this one most certainly DO refer to WW2 German troops.

  • @Rhademanthus

No it isn't, you are confusing it with honour the silence, which is about what you describe.

  • @kosemekars

Looks like a yank getting ready to hang a German. :/

  • This song almost makes me cry, it's one of the greatest songs I ever heard. Beautiful. And sad. 1:21 The trumpet is so fuckin' great.

I don't know many songs with such a great atmosphere.
