Architectural spaces are defined not by the intent of the architect or user, but by the events which occur within them. This video explores the possibilities of this idea being taken to the extreme, where spaces simply do not exist unless there is a need for them. When the user needs to eat, the space takes the form of a kitchen. When the user needs to sleep, the space becomes a bedroom. Spaces become intangible -- they melt in and out of existence. The only constants are the events which occur and build upon each other, leaving behind a residue of memory.
This video was a portion of my undergraduate thesis project at the University of Cincinnati, June 2008.
