Stroke Camp is an interdisciplinary endeavor partnering faculty and students from PSU and
Pacific University. It results in a unique opportunity for speech language pathology,
occupational therapy and physical therapy students to serve stroke survivors with aphasia
and their family caregivers. Interdisciplinary learning activities culminate in a weekend-long
camp where caregivers participate in support-group sessions and stroke survivors participate
in communication and recreational activities. Carter funds will enhance student learning and
sustain camps community service.
What a wonderful program! Hopefully this will be a model for other parts of the country.
