Few issues have generated as much controversy as USDA's proposed rule for overhauling the U.S. livestock marketing system. USDA has received more than 60,000 comments on the GIPSA rule, with about 16,000 of them attributable to the pork industry. Mark Legan, a National Pork Producers Council director, discussed the rule following a press briefing at this year's World Pork Expo.
