@bleak007 Almost all members of Bin Laden's organisation went through initial terrorist training from bases in Afghanistan. Hell the 9/11 attacks were planed for years. Probably started during the early years of Clinton's presidency. Right after the first attack failed to bring them down. Remember the truck in the underground parking lot attack.

The Stinger was just a show. The war was already lost - Stingers or not. The communist system was collapsing from the inside - the people could bear it no more.

When looking to this documentary I ask myself who is more stupid - the communists or the - so called here - "American hardliners". The only result of their efforts was 20 more years of war in Afghanistan, the growth of Bin Laden, and his Al-Quaeda, 9/11 and the nowadays war, which brings Americans and their followers to die there...

You said that CIA basically created and controlled the entire war with the soviets. You are an idiot Taliban didn't even exist in 1990's they began in 2000 after the leader of Mujahideen Ahmad Shah Masood died! Mujahideen was older than Taliban and much stronger. CIA only created al-Qaeda and that is it!

@MegaWolfgang That is 100% true. But al-Qaeda is not Mujahideen! al-Qaeda is a branch of CIA division and in Arabic it means "The Base" the name speaks for itself. Mujahideens fight and hate al-Qaeda so much that they actually were fighting each other. Mujahideen know that al-Qaeda is a creation of CIA and that they were there in Afghanistan for political reason to make Islam look bad and therefore make Islamic countries easy to invade all on the bases of al-Qaeda. Do you understand now?
