  • It's biggest issue is that it was never intended to run on a daily basis! It was meant to run on special occasions on a railroad that had wide sweaping turns that could handle it's long wheel base and ridged frame. The other thing is the throttle, it works but we are hoping to change it! It's built like a tank! The running boards were inch think pieces of steel! I don't think you can convert it to a 4-4-0 it would just make it longer again. Sorry I didnt mean to remove your post!

  • Oh ok thanks for telling me. Is there a reason why this train is having so many problems?

  • @kingsislandgenerals Sorry I accidentally removed your next post when I was trying to post my relpy!

  • Knots converted him to a "no tender". It's wheels were really slipping when I saw the video "Knots train testing" they made the whistle sound ugly. Also, if you google maps knots any look on their railroad, you can see #1 Davenport parked in a siding behind some other rolling stock.

  • @kingsislandgenerals Knotts didn't take the tender off we did! The long ridged frame was most of the reason why the wheels slipped. The tender truck and the lead truck were lifting the drive wheels off of the rails through dips in the track. It also caused clearance issues in curves. When she was Knotts they had single chime D&RGW hooter on it and we have a 3 chime lunk or crane not really sure which no markings.

  • When I saw the title of this video I immediately thought of ol' Albert. Well, one can always hope.

  • Looks good too bad she didnt work out at Disneyland or WDW but our new Ward Kimball(Maud L) is great. Would have been nice if they kept her as a forney but now that they added a tender kinda reminds me of Disneylands Marsh only with different paint headlight and a longer tender and some other little details

  • all she needs is a new cab and a name

  • she used to be a 0-4-0, then a 2-4-4, cedar point had to convert her to a 2-4-0 because she was too long for one of the curves. the locomotive is using Jennie Ks headlight and George R;s tender.

  • @f1fan112 The throttle on that engine is a nightmare from what I have heard, you litterally need to use 2 hands and strong arm it. But I do agree she has a beautiful whistle, and besides the throttle, the crew says she's a good steamer, and fires pretty well. There are still a few bugs to work out, and hopefully they'll have her running more next year for the 2012 season.
