Another brand new recording that I've fallen madly deeply passionately in love with. Since we wrote this song, I must have played it a thousand times. Tahira Jumah brought Shenton to meet me at the launch party of our last album, "Yesterday And Tomorrow" and suggested he cut a track for "Northern Soul 2008". To say that I was blown away was an understatement. To my ears, Shenton sounds EXACTLY like Eddie Levert, lead singer of the legendary soul group The O-Jays, and with just a hint of Levi Stubbs thrown in. I am elated that in 2008 we can find singers of this calibre to sing brand new Northern Soul creations. Just amazing. This is the absolute first time premiere of yet another track which I am exclusively unveiling here on YouTube, from the next forthcoming album, "Northern Soul 2008", which will be released on June 30th, 2008. Shenton Dixon sings "I'll Move A Mountain", and my goodness, he most certainly does. It is true to say that I have tried many times in my life to capture that quintessence of what makes a Northern Soul record actually work on the dancefloor, and with records like Sidney Barnes "Standing On Solid Ground" and Chuck Jackson "All Over The World", I certainly hit a popular chord. But this time I have never been more artistically satisfied. Everything about this wonderful new song suggests the magic and energy of the era that I fell in love with as a teenager. Forget the purists - this one has it all. If you can keep your feet still while listening to this, then you must be a country and western fan or something. Shenton Dixon, along with Winston Ward, Marvin Cotterell, and my new male soul group, The Concentrations, represents the new generation of Centre City artists. I would like "Everyone" to know that whilst I am both "thrilled" "delighted" and "grateful" to Ian for posting this, my "TRUE!" pleasure will lie in actually "BUYING NORTHERN SOUL 2008 and, therefore, "SUPPORTING THE MUSIC!!!"
