  • The only one of these I ever drove was the one that had had the cab set back following a bridge "incident". It had appalling steering because of the modified linkages, and one depot after another "blacked" the thing. Later, I believe, they called it the Tynesider or Wearsider and rented it for bus-enthusiast days out.

    I never drove the unmodified RTM, so can't comment on that.

  • Tried for years to find a picture of the old Durham North Road bus station to see if I remembered it correctly. Thanks for posting.
