A long time ago we made a video on how to spool a spinning reel to prevent line twist: however it was at low quality, and was hard to see the line.

So we've redone it (due to massive popular demand). So now you can learn how to spool a spinning reel to prevent line twist in HD and with a visible fishing line.

*Make sure you watch this in HD*

Here at Thundermist Lure Company, we've been asked several times "How do I spool line onto my reel properly?", and "How can I avoid fishing line twist".

So we've put together a short 4-minute video with 4 key tips on how to spool line onto your reel and preventing line twist.

Let know what you think about this by commenting below, or send us an email through our blog.

As always, good fishing!

  • @trc460 Glad you are enjoying our videos and we have plenty more coming! Mono does weaken, so try to use fluorocarbon instead. You can spool up this same way and you will notice a big difference. For braided lines, you can spool up the same way, but will need to start off with a backing first - we have a short video which will explain this for you in detail. Thanks for writing in and good lcuk on the water!

  • I've tried this a few times with mono & it works great but my concern is it looks like the line gets weakened after snugging it up!! Is this only good for braided lines? I've tried moistening it like a regular fishing knot, but it still looks weakened!! Thanks for the good tips... keep them coming!!

  • @jealuffaguS Glad you enjoyed the video and you will love this method for spooling up - it works great!

  • @thundermistlures Great. Thanks for the advice. I will try it out.
