  • Just to make sure, can you put one in a PCIe x1 slot?

  • @godulous Okay. I thought I was mistaken but clearly I'm not. Go to 1:33, Paul clearly states that it can be used in laptops. Why be rude about it??

  • @PTNLemay Actually OCZ Nocti DOES have 120GB (NOC-MSATA-120G)

  • Does anybody know which SSD I can use in the new Asus UX31E ultrabooks? They appear to have the mSata format but I cannot find their original replacement SSD.

  • These look really cool, it's a shame that they only make them up to 80 GB though... It's also worth waiting for any bugs to be worked out in the next generations. So maybe next year.

  • This guy is good. Clear speaking voice, knows what he's talking about, explains the use of the particular product.

As for the video, I would suggest adding text and alternate views during the spec rundown 2:23 - 3:13

  • @crazy88boss probably because there aren't that many mSATA 6Gbps ports in netbooks/ motherboards?

  • and 2, on the Overview of the product page on NewEgg it states "Supporting SATA signals over a PCI Express (PCIe) mini-connector"

So what is it, does anyone know if this WILL actually work? I have a Gateway NV59 laptop with 2 Mini-PCIe slots on it, and I'd like to use this as a boot drive. So for you tards that don't get the point of this in a laptop, if you could have both 200+ read/write speeds on a OS drive with 500+ platter drive in the main HDD slot, you get speed with space...

  • Has anyone been able to successfully add this to their laptop with a mini-PCIe slot? I understand the leads on the mSata compared to m-PCIe are different, but two things conflict here. 1. Joker face above states clearly "both of these has a plug at the end that many of you might recognize as a mini PCI-express that plug actually is compatible with both mini PCI express interfaces, which you may have seen with some wireless cards, BUT you can also use it for mSata."

  • I really want to try one, but like already said, 30GB for $75 is too steep. If it was closer to $40-45 I would definitely get one.

  • I don't think these will work on a PCIe slot, they are meant for mSATA. The socket must either support mSATA only or be a dual-purpose mSATA / PCIe slot. Most of the dual-purpose slots are found on laptops with WWAN support.

  • I've watched the video... and.. Yes.. it work!
