An analysis of fake-progressivism in cinema, including "anti-imperialist" films like Avatar, and films that supposedly sympathise with us commoners such as The King's Speech and Titanic.

I messed about with the camera angles to test out my new camera, I'm in widescreen now!

  • Jack, I want a video of you talking about things you really like, Puppies, Cake, Mars Bars. I'd like to see Happy Jack

  • @stjimmy1991 "Oh, I'd love to wear a rainbow everyday, And tell the world that everything's ok, But I'll try to carry off a little darkness on my back, 'Til things get brighter I'm the man in black." Plus, if I did make happy videos, I'd just be another 2-bit blogging whore like RWJ or one of those other delightful egotists who gets paid to make YouTube. :)

  • @JackBrindelli How about an alter ego? That seems like a good idea =P Just alter your name a little and vomit flowers.

  • @stjimmy1991 Yes, he could be called Indy Nial (get it?) and he could completely ignore how shitty the world is to everyone else simply because he has an HD TV!

  • I liked "The King's Speech" because it humanized George VI, something that "The Queen" failed to do with its title character. In the film I saw him only begrudgingly associating with commoners. I thought the point of the film was that he was just a person who was forced to appear superhuman.

Though I do agree with your criticism of Hollywood's fake progressivism.

  • @Stephen5000 Lol he begrudgingly associates with one commoner, who isn't remotely common. I agree though, he does come across as a human being, whereas Liz 2 was just awful in the Queen. Good to see you're still watching btw :)

  • @busybuzzbuzz I lost weight? Shit, maybe I'm more ill than I thought! (If you have headphones its really easy to hear, sorry)

  • @JackBrindelli, i am not aware of him citing it.

  • @jacobvardy Does Cameron recognise it as a source, or does he just plagiarise it like everything else he ever does?

  • @rubbleofempires A new person watched my video? Awesome. It's always good to know you're reaching new people. And thanks for the sub!

  • One of the sources for Avatar is "The Word for World Is Forest" by anarchist Ursula le Guin. In that novel the 'Athsheans' have their own revolt, with no white Yankee leader. Written during the Indochinese Wars, the imperialists are Vietnamese and Yankee.

    Vive y salud!
