  • this aint the blues. this aint the SAME maxwell street. man im talkin about robert nighthawk, talkin about pat rushing. now those are some serious muhfuckas right there. sorry but yall playin the white boy blues...

  • These 'white boy blues' are trying to keep it going on the 'new Maxwell Street, especially after 'Piano C. Red' got shot in May 2006 and is now in a wheelchair. You can't replace the great blues players of the past at the 'old Maxwell Street Market', but these musicians are doing their best to keep the blues flame going on the 'street' and keep the memory of the 'old blues players' music alive.

  • God damn it, I'd like to be there. Not here, in rainy Poland. Sweet home Chicago!!

  • Thanks for the comment, but, right now it is very cold with lots of snow here in Chicago. Can't wait for summer!

  • good music guys,I just love Chicago and the blues festival!!

  • Thanks for the comment, I love the blues. Check out my new video on Dancin' Perkins. It's been 20 years since I last saw him on Maxwell. It was a real treat to see him again.

  • One remnant of the "real" Maxwell Street is here -- that guy dancing in front of the band was a mainstay in the old market. His name was Tucker (his friends and associates also called him "Bubba"), and he used to dance like that for hours and hours, usually with Willie James and the Maxwell Blues Band in a vacant lot. Not sure if he's still alive; I haven't seen him for several years.

  • I'll resist the temptation to weigh in on the "white boy" debate, but this AIN'T Maxwell Street. It's Canal Street. The city called it the Maxwell Street Market after they demolishjed the real Maxwell Street area to make way for profiteering realtors, but it wasn't, either geographically or any other way.

  • danabl thanks for these great posts!! god bless you man!!! gary

  • Jimmy Reed's, "Big Boss Man". Wish I could take a walk on Maxwellstreet !!

  • Hey - don't worry! Snow is better than rain and mud, like in Poland. In fact there was snow only for ONE WEEK. And it still rains.

  • Tight Sound Guys, and the bass sounds tremendous. i havent heard a bass with that tone in over 20 years. much appreciated.

What more can i say, keep the videos coming man :))
