..March 1941 saw her travelling to Exeter to get her wedding dress, on her return to Devonport Kings Road Southern Region railway station - the alert was sounded and she went "Gone to Ground" in the undergound air raid shelter at the rear of the Devonport Technical School - safety did not last long as it took a hit by a HE bomb - her wedding was to be postponed..................
