I was there in May, 2008. Such a Beautiful place, so peaceful...JD would have loved it. You want lots of time to wander and take in the atmosphere of it all..a perfect place for him to be remembered.....

Oh get over it, he was just another singer from the 70s that failed in marriage, love, and was consumed in his selfish pursuits. He was just a man.

Because - GOOBER - John Denver made a big deal out of NOT having a memorial when he was alive!!!!!!! I think that following his wishes would be something that people would want to do - IF they knew what they were. Now they know!!!!

i want to visit this place so bad! , unfortunately i have to wait untill im old enough to go by myself because my mum or dad wouldnt want to go :(

Please know that it is NOT called the John Denver Memorial - it is called the John Denver Sanctuary. Denver was very specific - years before he died - that he would not like a memorial to his life - but he would love a place to remember his music. So walk among the stones - and listen to the "out of doors"!!!! THAT is his music. It is NOT dedicated to his memory - it is dedicated to his music!!!!!!!

So wonderful to see this...I was there the first year, when there were no stones and very few of the beautiful plantings made by JD's fans and friends in his memory. I'm so thankful that Annie helped make this lovely memorial to him.
