Very true but the rest of the world would follow our lead. Also we may not need oil for plastics, some say HEMP oils can be used for this.

The idea of making ethanol out of garbage and other wastes isn't purposed by any political persuasion because, their is no current industry making garbage to ethanol, therefore there is no entity by which politicians and others can pander and receive financial or political support....

....On the other hand, there are already entrenched large companies that would be in direct competition with ethanol, and their voices get heard. Large corporate farms also get heard, and do make ethanol their way, which is the least productive way and does nothing to help recycle what is already in the waste stream.

The game is played to get you to pick a side, stop picking sides against each other, and start looking for where the game is rigged.
