The American singer Michael Jackson has converted to Islam, the Sun newspaper reported over the weekend.

The 50-year-old pop star, who changed his name to Mikaeel, pledged allegiance to the Koran at a friend's house in Los Angeles. An Imam was summoned from a nearby mosque to hold the shahada, the declaration of belief in Allah and Mohammed's prophecy.

We don't know what he was, we just know he never converted to Islam.

The memorial and the funeral do however prove that the closest he was to a religion was Christianity.

And don't start with "how do you know he's not a Muslim". It's like me saying the pope MIGHT be Jewish just because the media made up a lie about it. Or saying someone who's accused wrongly MIGHT be guilty just because he was accused.

Gladys Knight performed the lords pray, you can find clips of her talking about the private ceremony. The Rev. Al Sharpton spoke at the ceremony, you can find it on his twitter. There are all of these people who were actually there, including his family, who have said things about it. It WAS chrstian.

@Aaliyahluva33 I know we all want to find ways to try to prove that this story might be true, but there is no proof at all. Michael's family would hide the fact if he was a muslim, Jermaine is one, he would not let them do that if it was the case. Michael was closes to his mother, she loved him, just as she loves Jermaine, muslim or not. She knows what was in his heart. Janet said on Oprah that Michael use to take his children to the Kingdom Hall. We muslims don't go to the Kingdom Hall.

@Aaliyahluva33 Well do some research and you will see some stuff that shows that there was nothing muslim about his funeral. Do you know who Karen Faye is? She worked with him until the very end, his makeup artist. She has talked about how the family asked her to prepare Michael's body. She is the one who put makeup on him and they dressed him in a suit. There are reports from Micahel's family talking about the private funeral. It was held by a paster, redings from the Bible.
