Kalemegdan -Singidunum-Belgrade

Kalemegdan is park & fortress located in Belgrade's municipality of Stari Grad (Old City). Kalemegdan is the core,soul and the oldest section of the urban area of Belgrade.Kalemegdan means- battlefield fortress.First settlement was founded in the 3rd century BC by the Celtic tribe of Scordisci, which became known as Singidunum. The city-fortress was later conquered by the Romans,defended by the Roman legion IV Flaviae which built a fortified camp on a hill at the confluence of the rivers "the Danube" and "the Sava".After Serbs finally settling in the region, it became known as Beograd (Belgrade) (White Town). Many couples started their loving relationship here, on Kalemegdans park benches.

A great slideshow! I think a slideshow is better than moving video here. The right amount of time to linger on each scene. It was nice to see the castle and the park through the seasons. Pleasant music to accompany the photos.

i lived in belgrade for 6 months i was here in this park plenty of times,i miss this place ,i miss belgrade,i miss the awesome people of serbia ,they are the best people in the world!
