While music here itself is fine, and the poem/reader are just as fine, the music and words in this event battle for attention. Too bad. It's been a common problem with this sort of haphazard combination. Kerouac's fiction worked with Steve Allen improvisation worked. Mine and Michael McClure's bands worked. A few more worked when Beats originated the use of free jazz with their texts. Good to hear people still trying to give it a shot.

@HedwigGorski Hi Hedwig, We Buffalo (who's members you'll see interspersed in the videos: King Otho, Noah Levin, David Acevado, Callahan, Michael Franklin, Rafael Bueno, Kate Levin, et al) are a community of kindred poets who love creating new things and bringing it open style to everyone who wants to join. During our open readings at the Bowery Poetry Club we were joined by many likewise minded musicians and together we decided to do what we always do: throw open the doors to everyone....

@HedwigGorski ...Many of these videos you see is us sharing not just the Buffalo themselves, but the open community we invited to join us on the stage as a free for all, some of whom honored us by jumping up on stage with music for the first times in there lives. This to us is a creational spirit and we happily decentralize from a "here is us, nice & polished" thought " to a "come join us now!" spirit....

@HedwigGorski ...Through these, Sarah Sarai has came down a couple of times and we are always blessed to have her and were thrilled to see her here give it everything with the live jazz in front of all. Create now and live on the edge! Hope someday our paths will cross. BUFFALO!
