Raul-David "Retro" Poblano (MIT: Mechanical Engineering, Sloan, Media Lab) is a core member of the MIT, Smart Cities team and the Hiriko project. As a Media Lab PhD candidate, Raul-David has made significant contributions to the development of the folding CityCar LEV and its shared use Mobility on Demand system. Working as a founding member of the Hiriko project, Raul-David is currently developing battery rapid charge strategies, autonomous vehicle control, and drive-by-wire wheel-robot technologies. It is Raul-David's ultimate goal for the Hiriko project to provide personal urban mobility systems for the advancement of equitable, livable and sustainable cities.
