thank god for a good guitar player...doesnt it make such a difference...not only chromatic..but dynamic...as opposed to a bodhran with six strings....he plays rhythm and does not sit on the tune...thanks for posting this.

@tocotodo Aye, a touch Bluegrassy alright, but then there's a wee touch of the Bluegrass about the way Gerry himself plays ye olde Banjo, don't you think, so perhaps that's why these guys play so well together.

Of course, Gerry is marvelous.
But I can't help listening to the guitar player. First of all, he is one of very few Irish session guitar players I have noticed who plays in standard tuning. He really makes those bass line stand out. Very chromatic at times, almost (dare I say it?) - bluegrassy!
