the freqbox is generating the noise, its ran into the cp-251 which is making the "blippyness" with the sample and hold function.

He's using a sample-and-hold, which produces stepped voltages that change randomly. Basically the sample-and-hold is grabbing a pitch at a given instant from the noise, then sustaining that pitch until it samples again.

I love what you are doing here. Could you maybe say a little bit more about what is going on here? Sorry to be a total newb, but I can't seem to get a very clear idea how the noise into your FreqBox generates the blippyness.
