There is no explanation for this. Just two young Navy guys doing the jitterbug in front of their peers. The original clip was rather short, so I manipulated it to make it longer. I'm sure the cadets would have wanted it longer. Their large deck audience seems to be enjoying the light-footed seamen. I have added music: Emery Deutsch's Orchestra playing "Formal Night In Harlem." I was unable to find a vintage recording of "Wet T-Shirt Night In Harlem."
@jimjimmyjames59 I don't know if they were bored. They just enjoyed dancing and the music.

@MrsBrownBoysFanClub Why not there were no women back then and men where men not ashamed of it. That's what real men do!!

This was actually quite common during WW2. The top Brass normally didn't mind it because it built moral among the troups, stuff like playing music, singing, comedy, dancing whatever talent you had. In this case we have two cats who obviously know how to Lindy Hop to some degree, which during WW2, had just made the cover of Life magazine. So it is easy to imagine, (especially from the interviews i've done) that everyone here is enjoying to see how it's "really" done!

I suspect they are dancing with each other because they were bored and there were no women.

So how come none of the other guys are dancing with each other? I see a few of moving to the music like they want to.
