whats the diff between a 50mm lense and a 17-200mm lense? when the latter zooms to 50mm are they the same? :)

just some advice that has been itching to get out from me.
i love your photos, but please stop cutting off the feet half way, it attracts my eye to that point since I am a photographer myself and it distracts from the main point of the photo. Watch out for fingers as well.
