Explore Research at the University of Florida: Mike Walsh, a clinical associate professor of veterinary medicine describes the danger fishing line can pose to dolphins. The line can become tangled around their flippers, tail, fins and mouth and cut through flesh when constant drag is applied. Walsh explains the efforts of UF and other organizations to save dolphins in these situations, including a possible a long-term solution.
