Xenophon and Xenu

Senator Xenophon said some nasty things about Scientology and they have their knickers in a knot. No e-meter will get that out.

There are a lot of "churches" that do make a lot of money.

But Religion is the greatest scam ever created, Taxing it would only slow it down a little, Religions should be treated like an other business, that would probably be un-costitutional here in America.

Taxing religions would tap into the Amazon rivers of gold they sit upon - that's has to be a good thing for society.

I am not sure how it could be unconstitutional so long as every religion is treated the same. No one religion would have any advantage over any other.

Be carefull mate. The church of Scientology is a very, very litigious religion.

Hillsong seem just as bad. There have been some very shady reports about that church.

I am not too concerned about the Xenu worshipers. All I have done here is reported what the Xenophon said and suggested the church demonstrate their technology to commercial it for the betterment of humanity.

With Scientology, the issue is not about the beliefs; It's the bait and switch and the destructive official policies the Church of Scientology holds. If you go to any other religion and ask what they're all about they'll tell you. Free of charge. However, in Scientology you don't really learn what the religion is about until you've already invested some 300,000 US dollars into it.

Scientology has a tax exemption far superior to that of other religions,because they get to act like a business too

Anyone using the "religions do good" argument should remember that even if churches were taxed, they could always start a faith-based charitable organisation for their good work *if* they could demonstrate the benefits of their work by the same standards that are applied to secular organisations.

As far as I'm concerned, their "feed the homeless" efforts certainly should be tax free, but the "feed the minister" part should be taxed like any other business.
