BethinTx, when a pattern says, "DC in next DC" does that mean to insert hook into the space/hole of the next DC or the top of the next DC stitch (meaning the top of it - the "v" of the next DC stitch?

@BeStrixed You go into the stitch the same way I do in my double crochet video. Looking down on the top edge of the stitch there is a V. Go under the two loops of that V through the hole in the top of the stitch. Do not work between the stitches. Work into them.

Awesome video! I've taught myself the basics by watching your videos......the instructions are very clear & easy to understand for a beginner! 5 thumbs up!!!! I HATE tghose holes! :)

My question is at the end of the row, when you have the last two chains, are you doing a DC in the last turning chain? It looks that way but you mention that it's like doing a half double crochet. I just wanted to be clear on that list stitch.

awesome! i always thought i had skipped a chain or something! i have a question though im trying to make a striped scarf not lenthwise stripes but widthwise(like an english hooligan scarf or harrypotter type scarf)for my husband but i can never get the second color to blend in well at the edges!!! it looks kinda like this } or some of it comes out straight and towards the top starts getting narrow or wide!! i feel kenda dumd asking since its a very simple scarf to make(all DC) help please!!

@Camixxxxxxxxxx You could end off the first color, and draw in the tails and join the second color. Or, you can finish the last stitch of the first color by drawing the second color through the last 2 loops of the stitch. I'll have to demonstrate this and another question in a Q & A video.

Great tip here. The "holes" at the end always bothered me.

You crochet almost exactly like I do. I hold my hook "down" and use my index finger to stop the wool from falling off.
