DoctorSolve.com presents: '7 Ways to Reduce Stress

Stress is a common component of the everyday American's lifestyle.
Stress is your body's natural reaction to the changes in your life, and can have a positive or negative effect on your physical and mental health.
The negative stress, which we have all experienced at some point in our lives, is generally attributed to major events in your life, long term worries and daily irritations.
Having stress in your life is perfectly natural; however, long-term exposure to stress can lead to severe health problems. It's important to be able to manage you stress on a day to day level.
Managing your stress effectively will help you to take control of your life as you invest in your emotional health. Here are some ways to help you manage your stress.
1.Identify the source of your stress. By looking closely at your habits, attitudes and excuses toward stress, you can determine where the negative stress in your life is coming from. If you understand where your stress has originated from, whether it's from your home life, work schedule, or the busyness of your daily activities, you will be able to take control of your stress levels
2.Learn healthier ways to cope with your stress. If you are stressed out, use a method of coping with stress that won't have negative long term effects. Smoking, drinking, spending hours watching television, procrastinating, oversleeping and taking out your stress on others may reduce your stress for a temporary time; however, in the long run they may cause your stress levels to rise.
3.Avoid stress when possible. If there are certain ticks or triggers that cause you to become stressed, such as traffic in the morning or frequent heated discussions over controversial topics, choose to avoid them by taking a longer and less-traveled route or by taking politics and religious topics out of your daily conversations.
4.Know when to say no. You know your own limits better than anyone else. Whether it's in your professional life or personal life, it's okay to refuse to accept added responsibilities, when you feel that you are reaching your stress limit.
5.Communicate your feelings. Sometimes your stress is particularly triggered by the actions or behavior of someone you know. In these situations, it's important to express the way that you feel to that person in a respectful way, with an open attitude and willingness to compromise.
6.Manage your time effectively. If you find that you have a ridiculously busy schedule, you can pare down your activities by determining whether the activities on your to-do list "should" be done or "must" be done. Planning out your schedule ahead of time by using a day-timer or calendar may also help you to manage the amount of stress that you're under.
7.Take time to relax in a positive way. Setting aside a time of positive relaxation each day, where you can do something you enjoy, will help to reduce your everyday stress, and additionally give you something to look forward to each day.
These stress management techniques will help you to relive any burdening stress that is impairing your emotional and mental health and ultimately live stress-free.
