I thought africa was "independent" and imperialism and colonization of the "3rd world" a thing of the past? I dont know that the white powers i.e, britain, france, germany, and the u.s. simply withdrew their all white colonial governments and installed african yes-men and bootlickers who are installed to render service to white corporations. THat is to say enact legislation that is going to allow white corporations to continue to bilk africa out of its raw materials.

Nigeria is such a sad country, o! So much money yet so little people are using their brains on what it should be spent on. Infrastructure and good education and healthcare, and no more NEPA CONTROLLED ELECTRICITY! Why can't we just put quotas on how much oil is distributed so that we have more for our own use? Corruption is killing the government.

There is truth in this. Nigeria has had trouble with internal corruption, and aid has contributed to that corruption. Part of the problem is cocaine and that both Europe and America need to legalize narcotics. But, oil has been good for Nigeria and if the Nigerian government does more to protect the property rights of oil companies it will allow for more jobs and more prosperity.
