Aly: *shakes her head* Nick... I'm 18. You don't need to protect me.
Nick: But I will anyway.
**End POV**

**Shannon's POV**
I listened as they all debated on the best ways to get Kyle back for this. I began laughing as Kat suggested shoving him off a cliff and then feeding him to wolverines. "Where are you going to find a cliff? And one with wolverines??"
Kat: I don't know!
Aly: I'll help you find it!
I rolled my eyes. "No you won't. I don't want you guys being tried for MURDER"
Kat: Right......
"Has anybody told Rachel yet?" By the sheepish look on their faces, that would be a no.
Doctor Cameron: *walks back in* Shannon, are you ready?
I sighed. "Yeah"
Doctor Cameron: There is the choice of being knocked out while we do this. It can be uncomfortable.
I considered staying away as they scrubbed at my arm... minus the skin...... and then began whatever the thing was to replace the skin. And I nearly puked. "Please?" I smiled at Cody as I started feeling the effects. The last thing I saw was his face, trying to look brave for me, but really just as scared as I was.
**End POV**

**Rachel's POV**
I wiped my hand over my forehead and glared at the sweat. I was nervous.
Mom: If you're scared you don't have to.
I heard the hidden laughter in her voice. "I'm not scared!" Nervous, yes. Scared, not at all. I've done this before!
Mom: Here, I'll go first.
She attached her clip to the line and jumped. She basically flew over the lake on the line. Determined not to be scared, I went right after her.
I don't know if you've ever actually felt like you were flying. It's so freeing. I literally felt like every single trouble that had ever bothered me was left behind on that ugly cliff face.
And then my feet hit solid ground again. "Damn, that was fun"
Mom: *claps me on the shoulder* That looked like you had fun.
"Yes! That was great!" I said, laughter bubbling out of me.
Mom: See? You had no reason to be scared!
I stuck my tongue out at her. "I was NOT scared!"
Mom: Of course you weren't, honey. Of course you weren't
I protested again, but she kept teasing me that I had been. We walked back to the cabin arguing the whole way.
Mom: Alright, now enough with the easy warm ups.
I laughed. "Time to rock climb, right?"
Mom: I bet I can beat you to the top.
"Loser buys the ice cream" I challenged, knowing full well that she was going to win. Well... not full well. I had a chance. Last year I had only lost by 5 seconds.
Mom: You're on!
We both laughed and started getting ready for the climb. We had a schedule to this, first we went zip lining. And then we went right to the rock climbing, had ice cream, and then crashed. Next day we would kayak out to this cute little cove and then put on our scuba gear and see who could gather the most shiny shells from the bottom. Whoever got the least, bought ice cream. We liked making bets out of this. Generally I bought ice cream after rock climbing, and she bought after scuba diving.
Mom: Alright, lets go!
"You're soooo going down this year!"
Mom: Didn't you say that last year? And the year before? AND the year before that?
She laughed as I tried to look annoyed. As soon as she hit the brakes on the jeep, I jumped out and got ready to climb.
Paul: ready to go Rachel?
"I've been ready since she beat me last year!" Okay. Paul is around my age, and works here. I'll admit it... he's super hot.
Paul: Determined to beat her?
"You have no idea!" I laughed as he helped me get into the harness. My mom was already in hers and was tapping her foot at me.
Paul: All ready to go.
"Thanks Paul!" Mom and I walked up to the base of the cliff and I grinned. Paul counted us down and we both grabbed handholds and started climbing. I knew better than to race up as fast as I could. I had done that the second year we had raced. Damn, that had KILLED me! I hadn't even made it all the way. So, about 3/4 of the way I was still going the same pace as I had started with... and my mom was slowing down HA! I sped up as much as my aching muscles would allow me... and... "I WIN!!!!" I collapsed onto the top of the cliff and gasped the air back into my lungs.
