Let's look at some numbers for truly earning a living in the world of marine biolgoical sciences.
We here in the northeast USA graduate app 1200 students in a discipline of marine studies per year. The current job market may have 10 job postings per month more realistic 5 per month. most require a PhD. Very very few people work in the field of marine biology that is the harsh reality.
@ETicky Marine biology can be a lot of things! It depends on what you want to study, like if you want to study sea turtles, you can walk along protected shores and look for them, or you can take samples from certain areas from a boat.
i am also thinking between marine biology and zoology, along with other scientific carers (astrophysics e.t.c.). atm i'm taking my GCSE's. the problem with marine biology is that im scared to death of diving into the ocean, like how some people are scared of the dark... dont know y i just am. is there alot of diving in marine biology?
I want to become one. I am studying in high school and my sciences are great but i lack in math, i hope to go to college locally in CA or Vancouver CAN. where some of my family is.
