A glimpse at the annual Gibson Guitar employees reunion for those who worked at original Kalamazoo plant. Nineteen years after Gibson moved to Nashville, many of the former employees still gather to meet and remember old times. By Mark Bugnaski Kalamazoo Gazette

This reunion is for former Kalamazoo plant Gibson employees and not for Gibson owners. If it were for Gibson owners, the great amount of people involved would dictate that it be held in some huge arena. Race is not a factor in this.

as interesting as this would be to attend, i would be the only non-caucasian gibson owner there.

I have a '65 Gibson 12-string acoustic that I refuse to part with. These people made their insturments by hand with a lot of TLC. No wonder music stars from rock and country flocked to Kalamazoo to pick up their orders. I was only 10 when the company moved but, as a local guitarist, I hear stories of the stars that the company catered to from the old-time craftsmen-from Elvis to Gene Simmons to Peter Frampton to Keith Richards, etc.
