I can't destroy probes for some reason, can't even track them. my scanners say they are always behind me. if anyone has any ideas let me know

It is known issue under Windows XP, the only solution of this problem is the "cheat mode"

Most underrated video game in history. I literally teared up the first time I played it, as no one else had ever designed such a great hybrid between action and strategy. I still play it and played it yesterday! But I have made a lot of mods using the gamesettings.ini

I love this game because it's on such a gigantic scale. The first 2 X-coms were Earth based, the 3rd one city based, and this one expands lightyears upon lightyears of distance, lol. I liked the gameplay a lot, contrary to most X-Com fans' opinions.

@amiedema1 There is a way around to this. Download CheatEngine561.exe (didn't tried different versions) launch this program, point to x-com executable and start game from within this cheatengine. There is no cheating involved but that program does something to the code and you can see alien bases again.

it's because the game is so old :/ i really hope that they make the game on new for new pc's and with a lot bether grapic and more ideas

Hey, whenever I click the "Equipment and Personnel" button after a battle, it gives me a fatal error and crashes, but it starts up fine after (what the fuck?!). Does anyone know a patch for this?

@HardWarUK All Wing Commander games barring Privateer were purely combat, that's not opinion but fact. Only Priv and Priv 2 allowed anything else.

@HardWarUK I never said you couldn't, I'm just saying more of the focus was put on trading and making money with Elite and Privateer, whilst Wing Commander was purely combat.

@SavageArms357 Have you ever played Elite or Wing Commander: Privateer? Both have dogfighting, both allow trading or pirating, etc, so I don't know where you're coming from.

@HardWarUK But Elite is more of a space merchant type thing, whilst Wing commander focused only on dog fighting. Now Wing commander privateer, That's an Elite clone.
