Regulation, not nationalization is the way to go. When a bank gets nationalized, it's stock prices fall to nothing. That means EVERYONE loses money, and people (not just the greedy CEOs) lose jobs. To stop the speculation, all that is needed are firm, enforced laws. This way, everyones money is safe, and the banks have to play it safe. Keep banking boring, but out of government hands.

Nationalization would have solved 2 problems. First, it would have removed top management and the board of directors from the banks that crashed the system through a systematic Criminal Conspiracy achieved by paying billions of dollars lobbying for deregulation. So instead of having the Same Criminals on Wall Street rob us twice, the FED could have resold the banks. The Second advantage would have been to break up the banks that are too big to fail. Thats just one aspect of American Socialism.

I support national healthcare, not nationalized healthcare. National healthcare means everyone has access to basic coverage, through a program provided by the governement. When an industry is nationalized, that means ALL private aspects are removed. Why would I trust a public official? I didn't vote for bush and he STILL took office and screwed everything up. So, why should I trust a NATIONALIZED industry? Explain to me why a government monopoly is better than a private one?

The Society supports single payer health care which could take the form of Medicare. This is the only way to cover everyone and the only way to control the costs.
We called for nationalization of the bailed out banks and auto companies not the health care industry. Banks are currently making billions in profits that will be turned into bonuses. Your tax money saved the banks and instead of making loans they are doing the same type of speculation that led to the international financial meltdown.
