Taken from the John Martin Project for the Laing Art Gallery in Newcastle upon Tyne, this is a biography in the form of a question and answer "interview". Each of the 5 questions; the "Who? Where? What? Why? and When?" of his life are answered.
It is meant to give as much information about John Martin as possible in the shortest space of time. John Martin was one of the leading British Romantic painters of the 19th Century and the Laing Art Gallery has one of the biggest collections of his work.
The Bard is a huge piece of work on permanent display in Gallery D.
This piece of work is ideal for children who are working on biographies as it is a thumbnail sketch of his life and a partially subjective rendition of his recollections intimated through tone of voice and facial expression.
The video was shot by the ever-keen eyed Will from Arpeggio films based in North Shields. Thanks to the People's Theatre cotume department for the loan of the outfit.
