@Simm2Dimm No that is only half of a truth! South Korea today is thriving Country with a economy that almost rival Japan! But N. Korea?!! It is a hell hole that rivals George Orwell book 1984! Big Brother Kim is really watching you in N. Korea! In recent history N. Korean miss managing farming so bad that 2 million of their Citizens have die of starvation! Thanks to those who pull duty at the DMZ for almost 60 years S. Korea where able to completely rebuilt there Country!

I would go right up to that concrete marker where the guards are standing, wheel out my $500 barbecue grill, light it up, throw on some steaks and patties, and sit back in a lawn chair with a beer in one hand and a remote in the other while watching a game on a big screen TV. Let's see how long those "I will not abandon my great country" volunteers can ignore the smells and sounds a few feet away as I wink and smile, my eyes offering them a nice, cold beer and a change to speak their thoughts.

North Korea is a BS country ruled by a nutcase. Every country that declared itself communist (exception with China, since most of their economy is capitalistic) ended up screwed due to human greed. My heart goes to the North Koreans who live under that bastard dictator..but I have to wonder why they have kids that are born into that orwellian country. I HATE it when american citizens who love North Korea type online and call him a 'defense against imperialism' and truly believe it is 'paradise'.

@ssgduke56 It took the President Park Chung-Hee, a man contemptous of democracy and one who violently put down protests, alongside torturing and imprisoning dissenters to build the country's industry. A series of five year plans micromanaging industry were enacted by him, building off of the previous president's industrial links, and he wanted an industry large enough to support an army against the North and one that was export oriented ultimately moving to high tech around the 90s.
