I noticed you have a holster of some sort on your back. Looks interesting what kind/brand is it?

It was a holster for some kinda target gun I modified to fit my snubby Remmy, there are better looks at them in my new rig video.

For BP revolvers you want pure lead, for anything with patch or modern you can use the harder alloy lead.

Manufacturers hate you. If everyone knew that they could actually cast bullets with nothing more than what you've shown here, they would go out of business. I love the fact that back in the day, a hot fire, a pan and a ladle were all you needed. For some reason, today, you can't cast good bullets without 100's of dollars worth of warming pots, thermometers, ingot molds, three dozen other "utensils" and two manuals in order to poor lead. Marketing is grand...Great video! Thanks.

Since some people use sawdust to flux their lead, having crap fall off the stick into your pot won't be a problem, just scoop it out with the other contaminants. :)

When casting .490 lead balls for a .50 caliber muzzleloader would it be best to mix the lead with something else? If so what other kind of metal would I mix it with?
