  • Suddenly Paine is a fast talking American that talks shite?

  • Are you kidding me?! This is profoundly moronic. I guess they are counting on the fact that the people who are watching this have never actually read Thomas Paine before. Glenn Beck and his ilk are the exact opposite of everything that Thomas Paine stood for. And they call this a "grassroots" movement?

Please, folks, READ Thomas Paine, and don't let these myth peddlers whip you all up into a knee-jerk mob! These corporate charlatans have no claim to the legacy of Thomas Paine.

  • I had this weird feeling that Thomas Paine was a brit who proposed social equality. I guess facts "dont matter none" (sorry trying to sound like a republican hopefully it worked)

  • The government is our instrument to voice our issues. Corporations and proprietary businesses small and large are only concerned with making money. They do PR stunts only because they know if they really screw up, they need to appeal to the consumers and workers. Government and labor unions are the only way to "Don't Tread On Me." You are just a corporate loser teamed up with Beck and Fox Noise spreading crazy talk to get those down someone to hate so you can be the sheppard.

  • @yanpagh Nope he's a recorded atheist.

  • @jacques1ify

I don't think he was a "liberal" in today's sense

He was a libertarian or a classical liberal

    So was Jefferson and Madison

The only Republican who would fit the description today is Ron Paul

  • @dafyddoe lol well put

  • Glenn Beck has no shame at all, does he? Or maybe no brain! He uses this actor, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing but vague platitudes, to push an agenda Tom Paine would have found despicable, and who would have found Beck laughable. He claims Martin Luther King, while condemning churches that promote 'social justice.' Who next? Harriet Tubman?

  • @jacques1ify Paine was a deist, not an atheist, dummo.

  • Paine was not atheistic. In fact he was a pure believer who needed not anyone to tell him how to behave, mixing behaviour with faith. A pure deist, that's what he was.

  • Bob Basso is a fraud. Paine was a liberal. Paine believed that using the government to address social ills and taxing the rich to pay for it was a good thing. Doubt me, read Agrarian Justice by Thomas Paine.

  • The establishment must think this guy is a real Payne in their ass.
