Thank you. This explains so much. But why does it have to be children, and why girls? She is repulsed by her materinal instenct so does she hate or love the "little ones".

@KayoJediOutcast Wow this response is really late, but I just finished the novel, and actually it was because adult cells weren't as malleable as child cells, any adult implanted died, and little girls responded much better to being implanted than boys (it is implied that the boys died when implanted). Just wanted to clear that up...

Some people have only played bioshock 2 which I think is retarded now I'm not downing bioshock 2 by all means its a great game but the first one is a million times better!! The seconds storyline is crap and they pretty much cut 1/4th of the games duration out its hard to even understand what's happening In the second one unless you play all of the first. PLAY THE FIRST BIOSHOCK.

The story of the game is really good. They should make books or films about the games. I actually don´t care a lot about a game once I beat it, but Bioshock (1+2) created such a great atmosphere that I always have to get back to this game. Game designers should definetely take some lessons from the makers of Bioshock.
