PENTRU CUNOSCATORI E O OAZA DE LINISTE SI PLACERE!

Some of her music reminds a little of pieces that were in the movie "Romancing the Stone". Alan Silvestri was the actual composer. Spyro Gyra used to sound a little like this also. Keyboards, bass, drums, mixed with horns and guitar.
I love contemporary jazz, smooth jazz, new age...all fused together. Very melodic, rhythmic, harmonic...and easy on the ears. Soothing to the soul.

Keiko is hardly known in Australia. When "Borders" first opened here, they simply stocked their shelves with stuff from their (American) database. The first time I went in, I was looking for something else, but it didn't take me long to notice they happened to be playing something by a jazz pianist with an AMAZING touch... I can't remember what I went there to buy, but I left with "Full Moon and the Shrine", and have been collecting her music ever since. Thanks for the great post.

It was me who called 101.9 and requested it to be put on their playlist. 101.9 went downhill when the program manager let Laurie Cobb from KBCO Boulder join up and play her late night drull. I seen Keiko March 19, 2010 in Bennett, CO. Her pics don't do her justice. She's absolutely breathtaking in real life.....gorgeous...lovely

This is my favorite one, and the one that made me discover K. Matsui. I was 20 or so, and I still love her music after 15+ years.
